Andreas Christensen is now closer to staying at Barcelona, although there is no final agreement yet. He had rejected the club's first offer but the two sides are now on track to successfully conclude negotiations.
The new contract could be until June 2028 with a significant salary reduction.
Despite receiving other offers, many lucrative ones, Christensen and his family have always prioritised Barça as they are very happy at the club and in the city.
Barça and Hansi Flick value his experience and versatility, hence they are in favour of keeping him at the club if he fits the parameters set by the sporting director. They are also grateful for his assistance in helping the club navigate the difficulties they faced in registering new players.

The last time a team did something like this was Real Madrid in 1985-86 when they won all 17 of their home matches. The league consisted of 18 teams back then.
Barcelona last won all of their home league matches in 1958-59 and 1959-60 when they won all 15 home games in consecutive seasons under Helenio Herrera. Back then the league had 16 teams in it.
