WASHINGTON (TNND) — Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard didn’t know that former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent was under FBI investigation prior to resignation, according to reports.
Earlier this week, Kent announced that he was resigning from his position due to his stance on the war in Iran.
“I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran,” Kent wrote on X. “Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.”
In his resignation letter, he said Israeli officials launched a misinformation campaign to undermine Trump’s America First agenda.
It has been reported that an FBI investigation has been opened into Kent for leaking classified information, sources told Semafor. The sources say the investigation started before Kent resigned.
