Inter 'in talks' to sign Wan-Bissaka

According to a report by Italian publication TUTTO mercato WEB, Inter Milan are 'in talks' with United to sign right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Wan-Bissaka's contract at Old Trafford is up in just over 12 months time, meaning this summer's window could represent United's last chance to sell him. It is reported that 'negotiations' have been ongoing for a 'few days'.

The report adds that Wan-Bissaka is valued at 'around €12million'.

McCarthy set to leave Old Trafford this summer

United first-team coach Benni McCarthy is likely to leave the club this summer.

His contract expires this summer and he has been linked with moving back to South Africa and taking over at Kaizer Chiefs. The former Blackburn Rovers man was a surprise addition to Erik ten Hag's coaching team in July 2022.

He has previously worked as a manager at both Cape Town City and AmaZulu.

Van Nistelrooy under 'serious consideration' to replace Maresca

According to reports coming out of Belgium, as cited by TEAMtalk, former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is under 'serious consideration' to become Leicester City's next manager.

Leicester are set to say farewell to Enzo Maresca anytime now, with the Italian set to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.

Van Nistelrooy, who played for United between 2001 and 2006, has also been linked with replacing Vincent Kompany at Burnley over the last few days.

United 'considering' Chalobah swoop

United are 'considering' a move for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah ahead of this summer's transfer window, according to a report by The Independent.

United are planning to sign two centre-backs this summer and have already earmarked a cluster of potential candidates. Chalobah, 25, is also capable of playing at right-back and in defensive-midfield.

It is reported that Chelsea, because of the Premier Legaue's profit and sustainability rules [PSR], are willing to sell either Conor Gallagher or Chalobah ahead of June 30.

The report adds Chelsea would 'want around £25million' for the latter.

Youngster confirms United move

United have strengthened their academy ranks with the signing of Ipswich Town striker Silva Mexes.

Mexes, 14, is the son of former Nottingham Forest and Wales striker Robert Earnshaw.

Posting on his Instagram page to confirm the move, Mexes said:

"Very proud moment for me and my family to announce my signing for Manchester United. Thank you for everyone who has helped me on my journey so far. The work starts now."

Celtic 'planning' Bayindir swoop

According to Turkish news outlet Askam, Celtic are 'planning' to sign United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir in this summer's transfer window.

It is reported that the Scottish giants are keen to lure him north of the border and 'plan' to offer him a four-year contract.

He joined United from Fenerbahce last summer but played just once in his debut season at Old Trafford, starting the 4-2 win over Newport County in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Ratcliffe wants Branthwaite 'regardless of who the manager is'

According to a report by Sky Sports News, as cited by FootballFanCast, United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to bring Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite to Old Trafford this summer regardless of who the manager is.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News yesterday, Everton are not prepared to sell Branthwaite for a cut-price fee and are holding out for somewhere between £70m-£80million.

United are desperate to strengthen their centre-back options this summer and have refused to rule out the prospect of signing two new operators for that position.

Southgate lauds Mainoo ahead of European Championship

England manager Gareth Southgate has praised United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo ahead of this summer's European Championship in Germany.

Mainoo has been included in Southgate's provisional 33-man squad and is expected to be part of the 26 that he takes to Germany in less than a fortnight's time.

Waxing lyrical about him, Southgate said:

"The curious thing about young talent is how will they cope under pressure. You can see technical ability and everyone can see that. Then it is about how tactically aware, how mature and their ability to cope with big matches. But when you are playing for a club like Manchester United, you are always under the spotlight, so he has shown that with them and with us in March. We have never been afraid to put young players in; if players are good enough, we are not so concerned about their age. It is helpful to have more evidence when you are making decisions on players. Kobbie has had an amazing season, has really adjusted well and it is fabulous for him to finish the season with a goal and a trophy at the end of it."

United are 'considering' a swap deal involving Mason Greenwood and Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix, according to a report by the Daily Star.

Greenwood will return to United this summer after spending this season out on loan at Spanish side Getafe. It is expected that he will be sold on a permanent basis.

However, it is now being reported that United are 'considering' conducting a swap deal that will see Greenwood move to Atletico and Felix make the move to Old Trafford. The latter has been linked with a move to M16 at various stages in his career.

Greenwood made 36 appearances for Getafe this season, scoring 10 goals. Felix, meanwhile, spent the campaign on loan at Barcelona and netted 10 goals himself.

Former United striker Wayne Rooney has raised concerns about the lack of leaders within the current squad.

United's dressing room, at times, has been criticised this season for not stepping up in key moments and remaining together. There were several instances throughout the season where the Reds conceded late goals, showing signs of a lack of togetherness.

Rooney, speaking on The Overlap, brought to you Sky Bet, said:

"Firstly, I would say you need around five players in a dressing room that can lead a team. One thing I would say with Manchester United now is, I look at the team and you're still asking questions about who the leader is. I know Bruno is the captain, but who are the leaders there. According to a report by Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited by The Faithful MUFC, United-linked forward Joshua Zirkzee has a release clause in his contract that can be triggered this summer.

The Bologna forward has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks amid the club's plan to strengthen their attacking options this summer.

Zirkzee, who has also been linked with Arsenal, has a release clause in his contract that will be active between July 1 and July 15. It is reported that it will be worth €40million.

Argentina under-23s coach Javier Mascherano has reportedly asked if United forward Alejandro Garnacho can be part of his squad for this summer's Olympic Games in Paris.

The South American side are one of 16 teams competing in this summer's games and, according to TNT Sports Argentina, want 19-year-old Garnacho to join them. However, it is claimed that Mascherano is still waiting to find out if Garnacho will be available for selection.

According to Spanish publication AS, United have 'approached' Xavi following his exit from Barcelona.

United are still conducting their end-of-season review, meaning a decision is yet to be made on Erik ten Hag's future at Old Trafford. However, it is reported they have 'reached out' to see if Xavi would be interested in possibly succeeding the Dutchman. The report adds that United's approach was 'very informal'.

McKenna signs new Ipswich contract amid United links

Ipswich Town have announced that manager Kieran McKenna has signed a new four-year contract at Portman Road.

McKenna has been of interest to a handful of Premier League clubs recently, including United. As reported by the Manchester Evening News last week, United made contact with the 38-year-old's representatives.

However, the Northern Irishman, who was also on the radar of Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea, has extended his stay in Suffolk. He has guided them to two promotions in as many seasons.

Staying at the club until 2028, McKenna told Ipswich's club website:

"I am extremely proud to have signed a new contract with the Club. We have enjoyed incredible success together over the last two seasons and I'm excited to have the opportunity and responsibility of leading this fantastic Club into its first season in the Premier League in 22 years. United are 'interested' in signing Lille defender Leny Yoro, according to a report by ESPN.

United plan to try and sign two centre-backs this summer amid the exit of Raphael Varane and the strong likelihood that Victor Lindelof will be sold.

Yoro, who is one of the most highly-rated centre-backs in Europe, made 44 appearances in all competitions for Lille this term. In total, the 18-year-old has already played 60 times for the French club.

Yoro, who has also been linked with Real Madrid, has just over 12 months remaining on his current contract.
